Tell Us Your Dream

Posted by: on Jun 25, 2012 | 15 Comments

… ‘when you declare it and share it, you’re accountable and your help-able’. Wise, wise words from Danielle LaPorte, one of our modern day mentors. P.S- if you have no idea what I’m talking about, you should prooooobably watch this immediately.

Every time I listen to Danielle’s Credo for Making it Happen, I get shivers. My body literally bursts into a cold, bumpy mess- inspiration at its most intense. She has this unique way of injecting perspective into the consciousness of humanity, and she’s totally transformed the way in which I allow myself to be inspired and the way in which I take action. ‘Tell us your dream’- this is a notion that I’ve resisted for as long as I can remember, and maybe you can relate to this also. I don’t want to tell everyone what I want to do with my life- what my business idea is! What if someone steals my idea? What if they do it better than me!? Can anyone sense a little ego overdose there? I call ‘hell yes!’.

But Danielle’s words have rubbed off on me for the better (thank God). There’s no more secrets around here. There’s no more competition. I can feel this all encompassing, blankety, snuggly warmth that’s out there, in the online community, vibrating away, sending out nothing but encouragement, high fives and virtual embraces.
I put this down to a couple of things: first of all, for the B-Schoolers out there, I’m betting that you’re as equally blown away by the communal love in the program as I am. There’s nothing but cheering, constructive feedback and lovely lessons to be learnt. Secondly, if you’re anything like me- I believe mentors are the new celebrities of our generation. Motivational speakers, coaches, teachers- these people seriously press my buttons. The instagrams of Gabby Bernstein and Kris Carr have replaced my monthly magazine budget. Give me the real stuff, no fluff thanks. And finally, the 2012 thing. Warning: things are about to get totally WOO WOO. I don’t believe the world is coming to an end, but I do believe our collective human consciousness is. We’re moving from one age (catch ya later Pisces) to another (wassup Aquarius!?), and just as we fall asleep and wake up in a 24 hour period, 2012 marks the ‘waking up’ of our psyche*. I’m freaking stoked about it. What an outrageous, nerve-wracking, crazy time to be ALIVE. Anyway, we’re starting to love each other more, we’re becoming more peaceful, we’re rejecting judgement- it’s radical.

I feel refreshed and light as a feather in the comfort that I can happily cheer on someone who may want to pursue a similar dream as mine. Once upon a time, I would have clammed up with jealousy or fear. These days, I patriotically wave this flag: Go get ‘em, beautiful!
So, now is not the time to be shy. When we broadcast our forecast- we feel compelled to get there, and without even realising it, we could very well be dragging in every source we need, any help we crave to get the job done. When the student is ready, the teacher will appear, and the teacher could be anyone: the guy to code your website or a dream collaboration opportunity- the sky is the limit.

I love hearing little hints of women striving, making little plans behind the scenes. My heart sung when I read that Rach of In Spaces Between is manifesting a new business name (I absolutely can’t wait to see what you come up with- you’re going to shine so bright!) and felt truly touched to see Kim of Dream Delight Inspire helping women with their website copy as part of her giving back initiative. Bloody good on you. I’m both humbled and in awe of the exciting things that women around me are getting themselves involved in.

Here’s my declaration:

My dream is to be an energy-health coach. I want to empower women to make inspiring health choices, while integrating crystal healing, ritual and Reiki into our sessions. I want to create a change; a shift from consumerism to connection. My clients will be some of the most important relationships in my life. My dream is that I can inspire them as much as helping them inspires me.

There! I said it! Now it’s your turn: tell me! Tell the world. Consider the comment box below your dream forum. Don’t hold back, announce it loud and proud and let the Universe know you mean business. I can’t wait to see what you’ve got to say.

Your pursuits sound crazy-awesome! And what I have to say in response won’t be nearly as eloquent but here it goes:

I was given a voice and so I’ve gotta use it. I was born singing – music is what I am. I want to connect to people with my songs, I want to help others realize how strong and wonderful and unique they are. I want to write songs that help people come into themselves, to be exactly who they need to be. And at the exact same time, I want my songwriting to do the same for me, so I’m always learning, exploring and growing. :)

Love this! I get incredible bursts of “I can achieve anything” emotions when I read this kind of stuff. It is exactly what I needed.

I love your big bold statement. Here goes mine:

My dream is to never walk into an office and watch the clock until I can ‘return’ to being me and doing the things I love. I WILL return to the creative world and make a living from it. Surround myself with likeminded individuals and embrace those connections. Xx

Hey Tara, I stumbled across your blog today, and gotta tell you, it’s truly inspiring. Your style of writing really resonates with me, and as for telling my story, there is not nearly enough space here. Suffice to say that I am finally living my truth at the ripe old age of 45! A few years back I went back to school to study Transpersonal Art Therapy – changed my life! I am now studying to become a Yoga Teacher and it’s like all the planets have alligned! It feels so right…I am excited to delve deeper into your beautiful blog. I have a feeling we are on a similar path. Lovely to connect x

I want to spread my passion and love for nutrition, spirituality, and wellbeing through coaching, writing and speaking to others who are ready to receive.

Thank you for allowing me to speak/write out my dreams and to declare it to the universe! I can feel the Universe conspiring to make our dreams happen already. Thanks Tara! :)

My dream is to become a published author, helping others to find their path out of adversity. But before I can do that, my dream is to regain my heath and just breathe… Be.

Thank you Tara. Did I tell you I love your blog?

Im a firm believer in putting your dreams out into the universe. Props to you everyone who shared–we’re all behind you. So here goes….

My dream is to be a doctor. Not just any doctor, but a healer who works from the inside-out, helping the body heal itself. I’ll treat the whole person–body, mind and soul. Though chiropractic, applied kinesiology, and a responsible lifestyle I can liberate people who are ready to experience life at 100%.
