HOW I GOT HERE

Let me cut this story short for you by giving you a bullet proof scope of my journey.

  • I was a ‘weirdo’ in high school; one of those girls who was slightly awkward, taller than all the boys, and unsure of herself. I had absolutely no idea how entirely rad I was.
  • Late teens/early 20′s: Working two full time jobs, training to be an elite athlete and blowing all my cash on booze and drugs.
  • Couldn’t ever hold on to the guy, despite my best efforts.
  • 21: Starting to feel truly insane- was exhausted from a life of burning the candle at both ends.
  • My volleyball career walked out on me.  I can blame my involvement with drugs on that one.
  • 22: Left Brisbane for Sydney.  Fell into the same trap.  Drugs, over-working, clutching for the guy, insane behaviour.
  • Left Sydney, and fled full speed for the snow capped mountains of Australia (typical escapist behaviour of mine).
  • Had the time of my life!  Plenty-o-drugs still, but alas, I met some of the most beautiful people I know, learnt how to snowboard (a passion which was prioritised over the next 3 years), and the big one- met my soul mate, Glen.
  • 23: Have been travelling Japan and Thailand with my man by my side.  There’s been some rocky times.  In the ‘real world’ people don’t behave they way they do in the mountains- so Glen and I find ourselves having to get to know each other all over again.  Without a bottle of gin and 5 pills per night to hide behind.
  • By this stage- the mountains are seriously mellowing me out.  I become very, very aware of the beauty around me, and regularly get filled to the brim with gratitude.
  • 24:  Living in Queenstown, New Zealand.  Bungy jumping for a living and often offering a polite ‘no thank you’ to party invitations so I can instead potter in my veggie patch.  It was in Queenstown that I proposed to Glen, and he said yes.
  • We move back to Australia, and on a ‘glowing bride’ mission, I jump head first into juicing, green smoothies and raw foods.  ’Gentle’ became my new life gear, and I started to smile more.  I got my glow on- mission successful, and I bagged the kindest, most loving man I know.
  • We move to Whistler, Canada, and then everything changes.  I find myself sprawling out on the floor in the morning flowing from one asana to another.  I prioritise meditation, contemplation and perfect health.  I start making weekly trips to the library, frantically typing in keywords such as ‘vegan’, ‘Ayurveda’, ‘meditation’, ‘natural health’.  My spare pennies get spent on organic celery, bee pollen and kombucha.  My crystal collection doubles overnight, and then doubles again, and again.  I’m introduced to one graceful, spirited person after another, and find myself drawn to their serenity.  Suddenly, spending an hour meditating with crystals on my chakras becomes more important than snowboarding (Whistler-ites will scoff at this!), and in those quiet moments, I discover who I am and why I’m here.
  • Glen and I spend a month in Mexico.  When I’m not sitting on the beach watching my love surf with Wayne Dyer or Louise Hay chatting to me through my earphones, I’m setting up crystal grids on the coffee table in our ram shackle pent house!  In Mexico, I start taking spiritual risks.  Intuition isn’t just a gut feeling anymore, she’s an entity I start to trust, and she’s guided me to a life I never thought possible.  I start creating sacred contracts with myself about situations I will and will not accept in my life, I start to become very, very clear of how I want to feel in this lifetime, and my psyche expands from old patterns of ‘working yourself into the ground is the only way you’ll ever make money’ to: ‘you were born to be an entrepreneur.  Go out, help people.  Lift them up’.

And lift them up I shall.

From fully fledged, balls to the wall Party Girl, to a Protege of Peace.  From a ‘shitty childhood’ to an un-shiftable attitude of gratitude for all of life (even the shitty bits).  From self-proclaimed, playin’-it-safe tomboy, to a woman in the world- making her own mark, and embracing this strange, wonderful thing called femininity.  I’m Tara Bliss (yep, that’s my real name!), and today, I’m 26- still a spring chicken I know (!), but I feel 36; in a wholesome, confident kind of way.

I’ve coached over forty women one-on-one, guided over 100 women through my online program, The Party Girls Guide to Peace, and I’ve toured around Australia to rock the mic-speaking to audiences that are ready to open the hell up and expand.

I’m here to blow your mind.  Welcome.

Tara is a rock star. Not only does she have a strong intuitive force coming through her, but also, she offers her complete vulnerability to the world in order to better her life and the lives of others. She is a heart-spaced coach who has the ability to kick fears to the curb like a fierce-goddess warrior.  She is straight up, the woman I needed to guide me to create my own space of blissdom. Her coaching is soulfilled, her writing is authentic and deliciously honest, and The Party Girl’s Guide to Peace is a unique gem that is on its way to changing thousands of women’s lives.
